Student Learning Expectations
STA Students are:
- Active Christians who
- have a solid foundation in the basic teachings of the Catholic Church and a loving appreciation of Scripture as the living word of God;
- are able to make Christian and moral decisions that affect themselves and demonstrate respect for the value of others;
- develop a growing relationship with God and with a worshipping community through individual prayer, communal liturgy, and involvement in their church communities;
- have positive experiences in relating to Jesus so that they may be open to practicing a Christian/Catholic faith as adults.
- Life-Long Learners who
- are proficient in academic content and basic skills;
- are aware of moral issues in today’s society;
- are able to apply numerous strategies in solving academic and life problems and are able to think critically;
- develop good study and organizational skills, and are able to think critically;
- have general curiosity and enthusiasm;
- can work independently and cooperatively
- regard their bodies as special and unique, deserving of good care and respect.
- Globally Aware Citizens who
- are aware of their stewardship of the global environment;
- understand, respect and appreciate cultural and individual differences;
- exercise sensitivity, empathy, and responsibility for those who are hurt, suffering or in need.

- acknowledge their intellectual, spiritual, physical and social skills;
- are able to identify individual strengths and weaknesses;
- make decisions for themselves and seek assistance when necessary;
- develop self-discipline and understand that there are consequences for their behaviors.

- speak publicly with confidence and poise;
- express their ideas in writing clearly, creatively and effectively;
