This is the last Principal Weekly Newsletter until we (K-8th grade) resume school again on Monday, August 26th. Preschool begins with warm up days on Monday and Tuesday, August 19th and 20th and the regular preschool day begins Wednesday, August 21st. Thank you for all your support of St. Thomas the Apostle School. Your child/children are very special to us and our job is to help them grow and develop academically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially. The STA faculty, staff, and administration are proud of what we offer to the students. Thank you for entrusting them into our care.
We would like to thank you very much for the generous response of our students to the collections for the Missionary Childhood Association. During the season of Advent, we collected money in the Mite boxes. We used Lenten quarter folders during the six weeks before Easter. Throughout the rest of the year we collected Mission Money in the classrooms. Our students demonstrated their awareness of children in need throughout the world and responded in a wonderful way. The Student Learning Expectations of being Active Christians and Globally Aware students were lived out throughout the year in the generous giving to the Missionary Childhood Association. The totals for each class are listed below for the three collections. We appreciate the generosity of our students and congratulate them on a job well done. We are happy to let you know that we sent a check in the name of St. Thomas the Apostle students in the amount of $1618.55 which will assist children all over the world in getting basic necessities of life.

In keeping with the Mission and Philosophy of STA, there is summer reading (grades 1-8). Please be sure your child/children have completed the assignment before school begins on Monday, August 26th.
Our office is now selling Classic Designs School Uniform scrip prepaid cards in increments of $100. If you need to purchase any items from Classic Design, this is a great way to support STA at the same time. They can be purchased in the office during summer vacation or at our PTG’s used school and PE uniform sale that will take place on Saturday, August 17th. This is a fundraiser for the school. Every card you purchase from us, 10% goes back to the school. You can use the card at the uniform store but not online and it do not have an expiration date. If you have any questions or concerns about the card, please call the store at (415) 661-4700. Thank you for your support. Also, if you are interested in volunteering to help during the uniform sale, please email Clifford Yip at email@example.com.
PE Uniform: It is time to stock up PE uniform for school year 2019-2020. STA Spirit Store will have one PE uniform sale per school year.
