PTG Meeting is tomorrow, Wednesday, February 12th, at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium.

Honors Assembly is this Friday, February 14th, at 10:30 a.m. in the auditorium.

Next Monday, February 17th, is Presidents’ Day Holiday. School will be closed.

The K-4th grade musical “Jumpin’ At The Woodside” will be next Wednesday, February 19th, at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

Progress Reports will be distributed next Friday, February 21st.

Monday, February 24th, is a minimum day with dismissal at 12:30 p.m.

Time is flying by! The registration form for 2019-2020 school year was distributed to your child yesterday. The form and fee are due back also on Monday, February 24th.

Jog-A-Thon is on Thursday, February 27th, with PLENTY of volunteer opportunities. You can sign up at http://sfsta.org/volunteer. Register now at http://sfsta.org/jogathon. Simply enter your name and email address, then click register and follow the instructions on the screen. Please get all pledges in as soon as possible. The donations help support the Sports Program. GOOOOO TOMCATS!!

The Annual Gala and Auction is just around the corner!  Celebrating STA’s 70 plus years in providing quality education in the Richmond District, join the STA community on Saturday, April 4th, from 5:00-11:00 p.m. at the historic Mark Hopkins Intercontinental Hotel on Nob Hill! This is the main fundraiser for PTG, which is working to raise money this year and will be a very special evening of alumni, current STA families, and community. If your family or business would like to buy an ad in our program book, sponsor, and or donate to our fundraiser, please see the attached forms. You can purchase tickets online at staptg.org/gala2020. If you have any questions, please email at info@staptg.org. I am looking forward to seeing you all there. Thank you for your support!

STA will be offering Summer School this year. Ms. Eilers will be Principal. The dates are Monday, June 15th through Friday, July 17th. More information to follow.

The Archdiocese of San Francisco offers financial aid for K-8th.  You would need to go to www.tads.com on the Internet for the application and directions on what to do. The Archdiocese’s Department of Catholic Schools reviews the completed applications, ranked on the basis of financial need. Late applications will NOT be considered. The Archdiocese will announce Elementary Family Grants to elementary families and their schools.

Grades 3-8 sports of boys’ baseball, boys’ basketball, and girls’ basketball registrations are now open. All registrations must be completed on line at http://sfsta.org/register.

If any parents have taken pictures at school events, such as Field Day, Halloween Festival, etc., please submit your photos to Mrs. Lockwood (1st grade teacher) as soon as possible to be included in the school yearbook.

We are very proud of our Students of the Week.

Congratulations to our Geography Bee winner, Chase Dunn in 5th grade. He will now advance to the next level! Also, congratulations to Kylie Abrego in 7th grade that was first runner up. Congratulations to all the class winners as well. We are proud of all our students.

Congratulations to our 8th graders who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday. We are very proud of you.

One of our student learning expectations is to be globally aware citizens. To help raise money for the Australian Bushfire Relief, we will be teaching a workshop this Friday, February 7th, from 3:00-4:30 p.m. to make your own Irwin the Koala. Irwin’s body will be pre-sewn but each student will be able to stuff the body and finish stitching the bottom before attaching the heart to the arms. Register by tomorrow, February 5th, at http://sfsta.org/register. For those who cannot attend the class but still want to make a donation, you can purchase completed Irwins for $35 each at             http://sfsta.org/koala. Irwin the Koala will be delivered to your child at school. 100% of the proceeds will be donated.

There will be a Chocolate Chip Cookie Sale this Friday, February 7th.

Chinese New Year Lion Dancers will be visiting STA at 11:15 a.m. this Friday, February 7th.

The Junior High Dance will be this Friday, February 7th, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the auditorium.

The 4th grade will be hosting the Family Mass this Sunday, February 9th, at 9:30 a.m. in the church.

While, we are still fighting the flu-influenza virus, unfortunately, the Coronavirus has made it to the states. Although there are few cases reported, we are taking preventative measures, including asking the children to thoroughly wash their hands for at least 20 seconds, using hand sanitizer if soap and water is unavailable, and covering noses and mouths with a tissue or cloth or their arm when sneezing. I am asking that if any of our community travels to Asia that they get a clearance note from the doctor before returning to STA.

Thank you to the Kindergarten, Eighth Grade, Mrs. Bongco, Mrs. Aymard, and Mrs. Cabe-Reyes, for a wonderful way to begin Catholic Schools Week during our Family Mass. Also, thank you to the 8th grade, Mrs. Cabe-Reyes and the 8th grade parents for the delicious Pancake Breakfast. Thank you to all who attended.

STA begins Catholic Schools Week with our Family Mass on Sunday, January 26th, at 9:30 a.m. It will be sponsored by kindergarten and eighth grade. We invite all families to join us. The theme this year is “Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.” Following the Mass, the 8th grade will be sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast. Flyer was distributed last week to each classroom.

During Catholic Schools Week, the Student Council will be having Spirit Week. It is:
