Parents choosing St. Thomas the Apostle School are urged to complete the Application for Admission as early as possible. All incoming students are tested. The principal meets all prospective students and parents and if openings exist, parents are given notification as soon as possible.
The Archdiocese is committed to providing financial assistance to families on the basis of need. Short term grants to families with financial need are available from the School Building Fund.

Application for Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten Learning Center
The school is Play-based, emphasizing academic development programs through play experiences with child and teacher-centered curriculum. The program offers part and full time hours. Please call the school for further information.
Application for Kindergarten
Children must be five years old by September 1st of the year that the child enters kindergarten. The kindergarten program receives more applicants than can be accepted. Siblings and Catholic children have first priority. To assure a place for your child, early application is recommended. Applications for kindergarten will be accepted at the beginning of October.
The Principal reviews each kindergarten applicant on an individual basis. This screening is informal. We observe the child to assess maturity, language proficiency and readiness for a developmental kindergarten program.
Screening is done on an individual appointment basis. Families are notified of their acceptance immediately after the screening.
Application for Grades K-8
All students are tested to assess their academic achievement. Students are tested in reading, math, and writing proficiency. Copies of a recent report card and test scores are requested. If necessary, we accept students on the condition that they receive additional help from a tutor or the school’s learning specialist. Some students are accepted on a probationary basis. The non-refundable fee of $695.00 is due at the time of acceptance. An interview with the parents and the student is a part of the application process for all new students. Notification of the applicant’s status is make known to the parent or guardian as soon as possible after the evaluation is complete.
The following materials must be completed before the student’s file is considered active:
- Application and $95.00 testing fee (non-refundable)

- Emergency cards
- Baptismal certificate (for Catholic students)
- Proof of age (birth certificate)
- Report cards and test scores
